Isabel Rose is a Goddess in training, fledgling crone, fiber and fabric artist, herbalist, genealogist, and permaculture homesteader and teacher.
Isabel Rose’s work with herbs and plants is ever on-going. Some of the teachers she has studied with, short or long-term are:
Juliet Blankespoor, Frank Cook, Susun Weed, Sandor Katz, David Winston, Sean Donahue, David Cozzo (Cherokee ethnobotany), Ceara Foley, Granny Sam, and other teachers at Appalachia School of Holistic Herbalism, Alder Burns (permaculture/horticulture), and Rosemary Gladstar.
In addition to her work in Herbalism, Isabel has had several careers; in Retail Management, Graphic Design, and Permaculture homesteading/teaching as well as teaching knitting courses and she is an expert knitter. She attended her Permaculture Design Course in N.C. in 2007 and co-taught Permaculture Design Courses in 2009 and 2010 in Americus, Georgia. She has also Organized Permaculture Meetups in Atlanta, done website design/management and social media for all Permaculture events in Georgia, helped organize and put on the Permaculture Gathering, Celo, NC 2006-2010
, and taught frequent workshops in Atlanta and Macon GA, Gainesville FL, Asheville NC, on sustainability, permaculture and other subjects.
She has also worked with the non-profit Georgia Organics, volunteering and helping out at their annual conferences.
She is currently an Ovate level student with UK-based Order of Bards Ovates and Druids.
She is a Homesteader in Northern CA with her partner, Alder Burns, where they raise sheep, geese, chickens and grow lots of fruits, veggies, nuts and herbs.
